The Orleans Cash Games
The Orleans is known as the home for Omaha High/Low in Las Vegas. Players will find $4/$8 Omaha High/Low 24 hours a day. There are as many as four of these tables running at any given time. Players will also find an $8/$16 Omaha High/Low game nightly. There may be a second table during the busiest hours. A table or two of $4/$8 Omaha High is also common.
Hold’em Poker Games
The Orleans spreads $2/$4 and $4/$8 Fixed Limit Hold’em 24 hours a day. A rare $8/$16 limit game runs during the busiest times. All limit games have a half-kill rule that hits when a pot of 10 big blinds or more is won by a single player. When that happens, the games go up 50% in limits and the pot’s winner posts a blind equal to the smallest bet.
The Orleans has a regular $1/$3 No Limit Texas Hold’em game with buyins between $100 and $500. A rare $2/$5 game allows buyins of $200-$1,000.
Mixed Games and Bad Beat Jackpot
The Orleans offers a bad beat jackpot for Seven Card Stud. It has been years since any such game was spread there. This drop is taken during mixed games, which qualify for the bad beat, which requires four deuces or better to lose. The most common mixed game is $12/$24 half Omaha High/Low and half Seven Card Stud High/Low. This game runs once or twice a week.
The Orleans Poker Tournaments
Players will find a wide variety of poker tournaments at The Orleans. All tournaments start with 10,000 chips when including the optional add-on, except the Friday night one, which starts with 12,500 in chips.

The Orleans Poker Promotions
There are several promotions funded by a $1 jackpot drop. Texas Hold’em players hit the bad beat jackpot when losing aces full of 10’s or better. It must be on the flop if the jackpot is below $75,000. Both players must use both hole cards. Omaha players hit the jackpot when losing four jacks or better.
There are also rotating high hand promotions. This includes a steel wheel in Omaha where the player wins if a five-high straight flush is made by the player.
Poker players receive $2 per hour while clocked in at cash game tables. These comps may be used at food outlets, the gift shop, or hotel. The food court, just a few steps away from the poker room, is a great place to use these comps. Dining options there include Fuddrucker’s, Sbarro, Subway, and Baskin Robbins.
The Orleans Poker Environment
The poker room at The Orleans is a bit gritty. The clientele is working class. The day games are full of retirees grinding away. The games at night can bring out some real characters. All tables have automatic shufflers installed. The chairs and tables are a bit worn, just like the rest of the room.
The Bravo Poker system is used to control cash game waitlists and hourly comps. There is a cashier cage in the room dedicated to poker transactions.
The Orleans Poker Room Opinion
What We like about The Orleans
The games at night are great at The Orleans. The $3 max rake gives it an advantage over other rooms. Locals enjoy the games and they tend to be social.
Some of the players at The Orleans can only be described as bizarre. It is a great place to try out if you are tired of the Las Vegas Strip poker scene.
What We do not like about The Orleans
For players that mind smoke, The Orleans may not be a suitable place for you.
